Thinking About Changing Your
NDIS Support Coordinator?

Sometimes a Support Coordination relationship simply isn't the right fit — and that's okay.

Changing Support Coordinators doesn't have to mean something has gone terribly wrong. You may be looking for better communication, a different approach, more consistency, or simply someone who feels like a better fit for you.

Your Support Coordination should feel like a partnership — one where you feel heard, informed and supported to make your own decisions.

You have choice over who provides your Support Coordination.

How Do I Know if Changing Support Coordinators Might Be Right for Me?

There isn't one single reason to change Support Coordinators. Sometimes there has been a significant problem, but often it's simply that the relationship or way of working no longer meets your needs.

1. Communication feels difficult

You regularly struggle to get a response or aren't sure what is happening.

2. You don't feel heard

You don't feel listened to or genuinely involved in decisions about your supports.

3. You're constantly starting again

You find yourself repeatedly explaining your circumstances, needs or priorities.

4. Your funding isn't clear

You're unsure how your Support Coordination funding is being used or what work is being completed.

5. Your goals feel lost

Your own goals and priorities don't seem to be guiding the work being done.

6. You need a different approach

You may prefer a different communication style, level of contact or way of working.

7. It simply doesn't feel like the right fit

Sometimes there isn't one particular problem — another Support Coordinator may simply suit you better.

Can I Change My NDIS Support Coordinator?

Yes. You can choose who provides your Support Coordination, and you don't have to wait until the end of your current NDIS plan to make a change.

If you're considering changing, it's important to check the service agreement you have with your current provider. Your agreement may set out things such as notice requirements and the process for ending services.

Changing doesn't need to be confrontational. A good transition should focus on making sure important information isn't lost and that you can continue receiving the support you need.

Three steps to consider when changing NDIS Support Coordinators: check your current agreement, find the right fit and plan the transition.

What Would Support Coordination With Support With Strength Be Like?

Support Coordination should be more than having someone's name and phone number in your plan.

Support With Strength is deliberately structured as a boutique service with a small caseload. That means having the time to understand the person behind the plan, know what's happening in your supports, and work alongside you as circumstances change.

My role isn't to take over or make decisions for you. It's to help you understand your options, build your confidence, navigate challenges and make informed decisions about the supports that are right for you.

A deliberately small caseload
I intentionally limit the number of participants I work with so I have the capacity to provide genuinely individualised Support Coordination.
One consistent Support Coordinator
You'll know who you're working with and have consistency in your Support Coordination, without routinely having to explain your circumstances again to different people.
Communication that works for you
Different people communicate in different ways. We'll talk about what works best for you and how you'd prefer us to stay in contact.
Building your confidence, not dependence
Good Support Coordination shouldn't make you more dependent on your coordinator. Where possible, I'll help you build knowledge, confidence and skills so you have greater choice and control over your own supports.
You don't need to decide today.
